The Committee on Outreach and Nurture through its Director has the responsibility of Presbyterian Christian Education. PCE is committed to serving the church and community through various outreach and educational activities such as:
- Christ-centred camps,
- Leadership training,
- Seminars equipping the church for ministry and outreach,
- Holiday and after school programmes for kids,
- Teenage and young adult activities.
The Committee administers campsites at three locations:
- Camp Tamborine (Mt Tamborine - SE Queensland)
- Camp Bunya Mountains (Bunya Mountains - Darling Downs)
- Camp Tinaroo (Lake Tinaroo - Far North Queensland)
YNET
The Committee has the oversight of YNET, which is a state-wide network of ministries to children, teenage, and young adults. YNET runs training programmes, events and camps throughout the state with the particular emphasis of connecting young people into local congregations.
We provide camping programmes designed for various ages in which young people can hear the gospel, be encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus and one another, be challenged to share the gospel with others and serve in their local congregation. All this takes place in the context of wholesome fun activities, healthy relationships and dynamic Bible teaching.
YNET also employs Youth Consultants, who have the responsibility of engaging with congregations to assist them in the development of their youth ministries. The consultants also assist in the training of youth leaders, running significant youth events, and providing guidance in the YNET camping programme.
